cant join the server

so whenever i try to join the server i get a "this server works on a newer version of css"
right so i update it
and when i try to join the server on the updated version aka prerelease
it says "this server works on an older version of css"
so how am i supposed to join the server?

Please first make sure that beta participation is deactivated:

Right-click on "Counter-Strike:source" in your Steam library, then click "Properties." In the new window, select "Beta" and then "None" under "Beta Participation.":

If that doesn't help, please delete Counter-Strike Source completely from your computer and then download it again from Steam.
